Shipping Coordinator I

Job Purpose: A Shipping Coordinator is responsibility for preparing outgoing shipments. Box the equipment up properly to where it is going and be able to ship the orders through the system.
 

Required Education & Experience:          

  1. High school diploma or GED certificate.
  2. Prior warehouse experience preferred.
  3. Forklift experience and certification.
  4. Exceptional organizational skills.
  5. Basic carpenter skills
  6. Experience operating basic power tools.
  7. Ability to read a tape measure. 
  8. Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Properly package large and small shipments.
  2. Load and unload trucks as required.
  3. Operate overhead cranes and clamping devises.
  4. Load and unload trucks as required using forklifts or cranes.
  5. May need to operate power equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts.
  6. Track lost and delayed shipments as required.
  7. Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
  8. Performs other related duties as assigned. 
  9. Maintain clean and safe work area.
  10. Complete tasks timely and efficiently in accordance with expectations as directed by supervisor.
  11. Able to operate tools including but not limited to, hand tools, manual machine tools, torch, drill press, etc.
  12. Notify supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.

Required Skills:

  1. Able to write legibly and read and understand written instructions.
  2. Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and use basic shop math including decimals and fractions.
  3. Able to use simple charts, tables and formulas as required. 
  4. Demonstrated related experience in carpentry to design and build shipping skids, boxes and crates that will result in delivery without damage.
  5. Able to use hand tools and power tools safely to package shipments.  (Power stapler, nailer, table saw, radial saw, etc.).
  6. Able to build and design tables, fixtures, and other permanent structures.
  7. Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
  8. Basic computer keyboarding, data entry/retrieval skills required.

Essential Functions of Eriez Manufacturing Jobs:

  1. Required to pass a pre-employment occupational physical. 
  2. Possess the ability to recognize and avoid safety hazards. 
  3. Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for an extended period. 
  4. Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times.
  5. Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials. This includes the ability to alternate between sitting and standing.  
  6. Be physically active for long periods without experiencing excessive fatigue. 
  7. Must have manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
  8. Must be able to see details at close range and at distance with or without corrective lenses. 
  9. Ability to communicate and understand information to and from another employee. 
  10. Must possess the ability to adjust to a dynamic work environment. 
  11. The ability to safely push and pull as needed to perform duties directly associated with scope of work.
