Machine Operator - Wager 2nd Shift

Job Summary: The Wager 2^nd shift machine operator will have the knowledge and willingness to learn set up and operations for the radial drill press, Shear machine, and Burn table. The ideal candidate will have machine operations background.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate Plasma Burn table, shear machine, radial drill press, selecting proper feeds and speeds for various types of materials.
• Able read and interpret engineering drawings, Routings, and picklists.
• Able to use measuring tools to verify accuracy of shear, burn and drill materials.
• Perform operations such as drilling, counter boring, spot facing, reaming, and threading.
• Familiarity with the use of fixtures/fixturing to ensure proper layout.
• Able to identify raw materials, i.e. hot rolled, cold-rolled, stainless steel, mild steel, aluminum, etc.
• Operate forklift, overhead cranes, clamping devices, presses, and porta power.
• Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
• Performs machine duties as assigned with in the facility.

Required Skills/Abilities: 

• Ability to set-up and operate manufacturing Machinery.
• Able read and interpret engineering drawings, Routings, and picklists.
• Ability to perform cleaning operations on materials as required using countersinks, grinders, sanders, files, solvents, etc.
• Able to use various types of measuring instruments including various types of scales, height gauges and micrometers.
• Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.
• Maintain safe work area and habits, keep equipment clean and in good service.
• Some familiarity with AutoCAD and associated computer software.

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of six months experience as a Machine Operator in Radial Drill Operator, Shear, or Burn Table Operator.
• Physical Requirements: 
• Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
• Must be able to see details at close range.
• Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times. 
• Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials. 
• Must pass a company paid health physical.
