Technical Sales Representative

Required Qualifications:          

  1. Four-year Degree, Bachelor of Science, Business Management, Engineering, or equivalent related experience.
  2. 3-5 years sales/marketing experience, preferably industrial equipment in process and packaging industries.
  3. Ability to work with people at customer, representative and inside levels with no supervision.
  4. Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills including business and technical writing.
  5. Ability to speak, conduct a presentation / demonstration and train large audiences.
  6. Ability to handle details of equipment sales, including commercial and technical issues and work effectively under pressure.
  7. Must be willing to travel (approximately 25 - 30%) as necessary.

Job Duties:

  1. Work closely with representatives and customers by phone, mail, e-mail and in person to solve application problems and handle inquiries.
  2. Recommend and price the appropriate equipment for the customer’s application.
  3. Work closely with Engineering and R&D personnel to solve application problems.
  4. Travel with field sales representatives; make sales calls and presentations to secure equipment orders.
  5. Train customers and sales representatives on pricing and applications for Separation, Metal Detection and Vibratory Systems.
  6. Entertain and act as a guide during representative and customer visits, including coordinating lab tests and sales training sessions.
  7. Act as liaison between customers and reps in the field and interact effectively with various Eriez Headquarters departments (e.g. Engineering, Aftermarket/Service, Accounting, Production Control, Purchasing, R&D and Manufacturing).
  8. Be familiar with the policies, products, pricing, etc., of the Separation, Metal Detection and Vibratory product groups and assist them as necessary.
  9. Serve as Eriez representative to assigned Industrial Trade Associations.
  10. Manage special design and specification requirements for OEM customers as assigned.
  11. Participate in major corporate account initiatives / campaigns as assigned.
  12. Ability to initiate decisions and exhibit leadership qualities.
  13. Ability to solve diverse technical problems.
  14. Suggest new equipment which might be added to Eriez product line.
  15. Suggest design changes that would make present equipment more desirable to customers.
  16. Occasionally make start-up and service calls.

Lab Manager- Eriez Flotation’s Lab Service

Currently we have an opening for a Lab Manager – Eriez Flotation’s Lab Services to manage all aspects of the Eriez Flotation laboratory to facilitate sales of mineral separation equipment to a world-wide market utilizing technical sales techniques for new and existing projects. Position will include supervision of laboratory staff.

Primary Duties:          

  1. General management of laboratory projects including the scheduling, planning, and execution using best discretion, judgement, and experience. Projects may include both in-house and on-site test programs.
  2. Management of the derivation and practice of SAFE standard laboratory operating procedures.
  3. Supervision and management of direct reports consisting of technicians and chemists.
  4. Development of technical and commercial proposals for mineral separation test work based on customer needs and requirements.
  5. Technical liaison with a broad range of national and international customers and agents to determine the best approach to achieve customer goals.
  6. Determination of preferred flow sheets and treatment techniques.
  7. Spearhead assistance to customers to solve technical problems and recommend innovative solutions.
  8. Continuous improvement to ensure that proposals, test work and reports produced by the metallurgical lab are of high quality.
  9. Reach consensus on approved testing methods and develop standard procedures and guidelines.
  10. Support the sales, engineering and production teams with data and information gained from testing.

Secondary Duties:

  1. Help in preparation of process warranties based on test data or experience.
  2. Increase laboratory revenue by participating and/or giving presentations to customers, conducting technical sales calls, or attending industry-related conferences.
  3. Help research, collect, and report on the ability and capacity of new and existing products for both the company and competing equipment.
  4. Conduct equipment training sessions as required.
  5. Participate and/or manage technical support for equipment start-up at customer sites.
  6. Assist in preparation of technical papers and presentations based on work conducted.
  7. Identify areas of new and existing product improvement.
  8. Travel domestically and internationally as required to fulfill stated duties.
  9. Expand laboratory capabilities and general increase profitability.


  1. Requires an engineering degree with at least 5 years of related engineering experience.
  2. Advance engineering degree an asset.
  3. Must have project management skills and report writing experience.
  4. Eligibility for registration as a P.E. in the local jurisdiction an asset.
  5. Familiar with a variety of field concepts (especially froth flotation), practices, and procedure.
  6. Good understanding of testing principles and approaches.
  7. Well organized with good leadership skills.
  8. Experience in supervising technicians and other hourly personnel.
  9. Outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal skills.
  10. Fluency in English with good verbal and written skills
  11. Ability to communicate in other languages an asset.
  12. Good computer skills and familiarity with programs such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio as well as material-balancing and specialized industry-related software.
  13. Ability to use common sense, good judgment and in-field experience to accomplish goals.
  14. A working understanding of commercial aspects for projects including the ability to review terms & conditions and participate in project contract negotiations.
  15. Ability to work closely with the customer.


2nd Shift Position 


  1. Able to set-up and operate CNC Laser and Plasma Burner and saws.
  2. Able to follow work list using Shop Packets.
  3. Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, routings and picklists.
  4. Able to use shop math including geometry, with some knowledge of flat layout and sheetmetal fabrication.
  5. Able to use measuring tools to verify accuracy of cut materials.
  6. Able to use computer system to retrieve and enter data.
  7. Able to identify raw materials, i.e. hot rolled, cold-rolled, stainless steel, mild       steel, aluminum, etc.
  8. Some familiarity with AutoCAD and associated software.

Job Duties:

  1. Set-up and operate all burning equipment and saws as required.
  2. Retrieve and replace inventory (raw materials) as required, protecting the inventory integrity of the inventory management system, including cycle counts. 
  3. Work through supervisor to maintain proper inventory levels.
  4. Work through supervisor to make necessary drawing and/or routing changes as required.
  5. Cleaning operations on materials as required using countersinks, grinders, sanders, files, solvents, etc.
  6. Basic welding skills may be required.
  7. Issue and deliver raw material items as required
  8. Load and unload trucks as required.
  9. Keep equipment clean and in good service.
  10. Maintain safe work area and habits.
  11. Perform similar and related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Mineral Process Engineer

The position of mineral processing engineer will support the flotation sales, engineering and R&D team at our Erie, PA location.  A key objective is to facilitate sales of mineral processing equipment to a world-wide market. Work will be focused on customer technical support, technical sales, new product/process develop and general technical support to global operations.  The process engineer is encouraged to promote innovative methods of achieving customer's objectives in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.  Specifically, the candidate must have an in-depth, fundamental knowledge of the basic principles of magnetic and flotation separation equipment.



  1. B.S. degree in mineral processing from an accredited university.
  2. 3 - 5 years of related experience 
  3. Demonstrated ability to lead major sales and technical projects.
  4. Fluent in basic computer skills including all MS Office and AutoDesk products.
  5. Multi-lingual.
  6. Solid understanding of mineral processing equipment design principles.
  7. Well organized with good leadership skills

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  1. General management of customer projects including proposal development, contract negotiations, project test plan development/execution and final report preparation/presentation.
  2. Technical liaison with a broad range of national and international customers and agents to determine proper applications for Eriez’ equipment and recommend innovative solutions.
  3. Preparation of technical and commercial proposals for test programs and equipment.
  4. Determination of preferred flowsheets and treatment techniques.
  5. Preparation of equipment sizing recommendations and process warranties.
  6. Sales and marketing including customer presentations and technical sales calls.
  7. Management of in-house and on-site test programs, including data analysis and reporting.
  8. Domestic and international travel to support field sales teams and test programs.
  9. Development and upkeep of technical manuals, operation & maintenance manuals, and process selection tools/calculators. 
  10. Conduct equipment training sessions for customers and Eriez professional staff.
  11. Contribute to the development of prototype designs from conception through pilot-scale testing, and ultimately to full-scale implementation.
  12. Evaluation and testing of prototype and full-scale equipment at external labs and customer sites.
  13. Direct and/or participate with a team of research engineers/technicians in conducting R&D projects. 
  14. Author and present technical papers/presentation and national and international meetings.

Sr. Electrical, Electronic Technician

Wager Road Position

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering preferred or a 2-year Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology with a minimum of 7 years of experience in related fields.
  2. Thorough understanding of electrical and electronic circuitry.
  3. Ability to read and comprehend complicated mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and circuit schematics.
  4. Ability to build control panels, assemble, wire and test electromechanical devices and systems.
  5. Ability to use electronic test equipment for functional and electrical testing of controls, repair and troubleshooting of systems.
  6. Ability to load system programs to PLC, set device parameters and conduct functional testing and inspection of completed systems.
  7. Working knowledge of CAD programs and experience working with computers and Microsoft Office software.  EnterpriseOne knowledge a plus.
  8. Must be able to work independently.  

Job Duties:

  1. Build small to medium size controls for select Eriez products.
  2. Perform layout and drill operations whenever necessary to meet production schedules.
  3. Mount controls to Eriez systems in production including wiring of controls to system devices, mounting of junction boxes, running of flexible/Sealtite and EMT conduit runs where needed and working with manufacturing or contractors to complete threaded rigid conduit runs when required.
  4. Load system programs to PLC, set device parameters and conduct functional testing and inspection of completed systems.
  5. Wiring and testing of motors and other electrical devices to Eriez equipment.
  6. Serve as liaison between production and electrical engineering on troubleshooting and drawing issues.
  7. Attend periodic training sessions as required to support equipment.
  8. Perform other similar and related duties.


Lead R&D Mechanical Engineer

Currently we have an opening for a Lead R&D Mechanical Engineer at our Wager Road facility. The individual selected for this role will design, develop, and successfully implement research and development products from concept to release. Perform ANSYS finite element structural and modal analyses to support product design. Lead teams of engineers and designers through each phase of the product design and development program.


  1. Possess the ability to work independently on projects with minimal supervision, and to define and maintain accurate manpower requirements and timeframes for project completion.
  2. Possess the ability to define all the research and development steps required to successfully take an idea from concept to product release.
  3. Possess machine design experience with the ability to review existing and new product designs from an engineering point of view.
  4. Demonstrate a working knowledge of ANSYS finite element analysis software. This includes fully understanding the limitations of the elements used to model a component/system, properly modeling the component/system, ensuring that ANSYS solutions provide an accurate evaluation of the component or system, and presenting the results in design meetings including the methods and assumptions.
  5. Possess the ability to ensure that all necessary engineering calculations are properly completed to meet specifications.
  6. Demonstrate a high level of creativity and ingenuity to provide reliable, cost-effective engineering solutions.
  7. Possess the ability to design lab test programs to evaluate new prototype products to meet specifications.
  8. Possess strong oral and written communication skills to relay clear, concise information to supervisors, co-workers, technicians, designers, and upper management.
  9. Possess the ability to lead teams of engineers and designers in engineering projects.
  10. Possess the ability to troubleshoot machine and process issues, identify the root causes of the issues, and provide engineered solutions.
  11. Possess the ability to create 3D solid models of design concepts using Inventor software, and to create drawings which contain the proper design functional requirements and utilize proper dimensioning and tolerancing per ANSI and AWS documentation practices.
  12. Willing to travel internationally as required.

Job Duties:

  1. Define all the research and development steps required to successfully take an idea from concept to product release. This includes defining and maintaining accurate manpower requirements and timeframes to complete the project.
  2. Perform ANSYS finite element structural and modal mechanical analyses of components including accurate modeling, meshing, diagnostics, FEA validation, identification and resolution of design deficiencies, post-processing, and results reporting.
  3. Ensure that all necessary engineering calculations are properly completed to meet specifications.

  5. Lead and supervise engineers and designers on research and development projects.
  6. Present project progress reports to R&D and corporate management personnel.
  7. Evaluate equipment performance and provide solutions as needed in the lab, in a production environment, and in the field.
  8. Create 3D solid models of design concepts using Inventor software. Work with designers and engineers to ensure that drawings contain the proper design functional requirements and utilize proper dimensioning and tolerancing per ANSI and AWS documentation practices.
  9. Produce Installation, Operation, and Maintenance (IOM) documents for equipment.
  10. Communicate with sales and manufacturing personnel while planning and executing research and development projects.
  11. Communicate concerns and questions to immediate supervisor.
  12. Travel on occasion to field installations to evaluate and trouble shoot equipment issues.
  13. Perform other tasks as assigned by immediate supervisor.


Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering required. Master of Science or professional engineering license desired.


  • 10 years minimum experience in mechanical design taking an idea from concept to product release in a research and development environment.
  • 3 years minimum experience performing finite element analyses using ANSYS.
  • 2 years minimum experience managing R&D projects including supervising engineering personnel.

Utility Assembler, HiVi 2nd shift



  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and use basic shop math including decimals and fractions.
  • Able to read and follow engineering drawings, assembly procedures, instruction manuals and material/pick lists to complete assemblies.
  • Able to use specialized tools/fixtures, both electrical and mechanical to complete assembly.
  • Able to use epoxies and adhesives as required in assembly applications.
  • Able to work in a safe manner dealing with powerful magnets and high voltage.
  • Perform assembly work in other assembly areas as directed by supervisor/leadman.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
  • Must be able to see details at close range.
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
  • Must pass a company paid physical, and pre-employment drug screen.
