Position: Human Resources and EHS Coordinator

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor degree in Human Resources or related field plus a minimum of two years of practical work experience relevant to the position. Candidates without a bachelor-level degree may be considered with significant comparable experience commensurate with the special characteristics of this position.
2. Proven experience as an HR assistant or in a relevant human resources/administrative position
3. PC literacy (MS Office, in particular)
4. Hands on experience with an HRIS or adapted HRMS (ie, AS400/JD Edwards)
5. Functional knowledge of basic labor laws and related compliance requirements
6. Comfort operating subject to specific policy and regulatory requirements, including tight targets and deadlines
7. Effective problem-solving skills
8. Excellent organizational skills
9. Strong communications skills, both verbal and written including correspondence, reports and presentations

Duties:

  1. Assist with day to day operations of the HR/EHS functions and duties
  2. Provide clerical and administrative support to Human Resources/Safety managers
  3. Handle sensitive and confidential matters like employee relations information and organizational changes, update and protect the security of personnel data and files.
  4. Interpret, assist and advise employees and managers regarding benefits including various employee health & wellness programs, leave management and general HR/EHS procedures and policies within the specified guidelines.
  5. Coordinate HR & Safety projects (meetings, training, surveys, etc.)
  6. Provide assistance with staffing process activities such as working with placement agencies, reviewing applications, coordinating interviews and maintaining a spreadsheet tracking applicant activity.
  7. Assist initial orientation to newly placed and/or directly hired employees

    Position: Metal Detector Assembler

    Requirements:

    1. Able to read and understand written instructions.
    2. Able to use basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals and fractions.
    3. Able to read and understand engineering drawings and instructions sheets related to metal detector coil assembly.
    4. Able to use required measuring instruments associated with metal detectors.
    5. Able to perform required soldering operations
    6. Able to weigh and mix epoxy compounds properly.
    7. Manual dexterity to assemble small fragile assemblies.
    8. Ability to operate various power tools and hand tools required to assemble conveyors.

    Duties:

    1. Assemble and insulate various assemblies and metal detectors. Assemble metal detector conveyors and valves.
    2. Solder coil assemblies as required.
    3. Properly mix various epoxy compounds and use of foam machine.
    4. Set-up and operate lead stripping machine, sanders and other grinding equipment.
    5. Properly operate ovens and vacuum tank.
    6. Use various instruments to assure coil quality such as megger, hi-pot, shorted-turns indicator and ohmmeter. Use oscilloscope for testing detectors.
    7. Keep work station neat and orderly.
    8. Perform other similar and related duties as assigned by department manager.
