Self Cleaning Grates

Grate in Housing cleaning is completely automated for continuous product flows with Eriez Automatic GH12 Tramp Iron Grate in Housings. The Automatic Grate in Housing incorporates the same Erium™ Ceramic or Rare Earth magnet material to remove ferrous contamination from free flowing products as it cascades through multiple grate rows combined with automatic grate cycling components

With Eriez' single-skinned tube design, the iron is removed with a stainless steel split ring sandwiched between two floating wipers. Grate rows cycle individually so tramp iron is stripped from the tubes outside the product zone while product continues through the grate. The tramp metal is then discharged through a small chute at the front of the housing. The traditional magnet cleaning cycle is completely automated and continuous.

Eriez manufactures standard grate housings as shown in the literature available in the PDF below but will custom design anything to fit your installation requirements. Typical units include a rectangular housing that holds multiple rows of powerful tube magnets that attract and hold fine ferrous contamination as material cascades around the magnets. Optional features include adapters to transition your product flow into the grate housing, explosion proof pneumatic components, special controls and Eriez Rare Earth circuit for the ultimate in separation efficiency.
