Ferrous contamination in raw rice endangered processing equipment and affected product purity at Dainty Foods, Ltd., Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
Solution:
Following a plant-wide safety evaluation, every grain of rice entering the plant passed through a system of Eriez Grate Magnets that reportedly removed ferrous trash and eliminated fine iron contamination.
