Problem:
Iron dust endangered product purity. The small iron particles damaged parts of the extruder that produced polystyrene sheets at the Plastics Division of General American TransportationGeneral American Transportation in East Chicago, IL, USA.
Solution:
An Eriez Grate Magnet, installed in the extruder hopper, assured the quality of the finished product and saved hundreds of dollers a year in damage and downtime. Only periodic cleaning was required.
