Problem:
Tramp iron was a source of costly damage to hammer mill and grinding machinery at the Santa Ana, Calif., plant of Cal Compak Foods, Inc., largest processors of chili and paprika peppers.
Solution:
By installing an Eriez Permanent Magnet Head Pulley on an inspection belt handling the dried peppers, iron contamination was removed before it reached the grinding machinery. Product purity was also greatly improved.
