Problem:
Shovel teeth, nails, nuts and bolts, lost tools and the like were continually damaging a crusher processing limestone at American Cement Company in Riverside, California, USA.
Solution:
All tramp iron was effectively and quickly removed at the rate of 400 tons per hour (363 mtph) after an Eriez 30 by 55-inch (762x1397 mm) Suspended Electromagnet was installed over a conveyor. It replaced an elaborate metal detector system that wasn't doing the job.
